Jarelle "J" Thomas is the youngest of two children originally from Queens NY, and navigating throughout New York City, living everywhere except for that awful borough Staten Island. He began acting at the age of 7 performing at local theaters in Queens and continuing into Freeport, Long Island. He set aside acting to pursue his passion at the time which was Hip Hop. Inspired by the likes of Big Pun, Eminem, Wu-Tang Clan, The Lox, Big L, Tupac, and Ludacris. As a talented writer and performer, he made a name for himself. Eventually, due to circumstances internally and externally, he gave up rapping for fame but never quit producing music. The love of the music began to subside as a new wave of gangster rap changed the demographic of the music. It changed from intense lyrical creativity to drug dealing drivel and overly hyped nursery rhymes. It was time to move on, he took a break from the music but not performing.
At that time, J Thomas felt that he needed to take another route to express himself creatively. He began to gravitate towards a lifelong obsession of his - Comedy. He started taking improv classes, writing and producing numerous Song Parodies, as well as producing and hosting two public access shows for Manhattan and Bronx Neighborhood Network. J Thomas began his stand-up career in 2013 off of a dare. Its been an uphill battle ever since. He studied improv at The Magnet Theatre in NY, as well as the now Defunct Dirty South Improv Theatre in Chapel Hill, NC.
He has performed up and down the east coast, and California. Has appeared as a contestant on three MTV shows including Silent Library, Broke Ass Game Show, and Totally Clueless. He just completed his first book Finding Horizons and is currently writing a second book, and screenplay based on the book, titled Sunrise. He has produced and directed a web series called Uncomfy Comedians and continues to pursue his passions of entertainment in all its factions.
